A big third period propelled High River to a win over Strathmore on Sunday.

STRATHMORE – Davis Sheldon scored twice as the High River Flyers used a three-goal third period effort to pick up a 5-3 win over the Strathmore Wheatland Kings on Sunday evening.

The Flyers (10-8-3) trailed 3-2 going into the third period, however Devon Barlow, Logan MacLean and Evan Pakkala all found the back for High River prior to the midway mark of the frame, giving them a two-goal cushion.

George Montour finished with a goal and two helpers for Strathmore (9-7-2), while Cole Busslinger and Garret Vander Ploeg each added a single.

Chantz Vinck stopped 26-of-29 shots to pick up the win between the pipes for High River, while Strathmore goaltender Indiana Kelly finished with 28 saves.
