The Red Deer Vipers take over top spot in the HJHL after cruising to their eighth consecutive victory.
Red Deer (10) vs. Mountainview (1)
RED DEER – A five-point outing off the stick of Aidan Wilson propelled the Red Deer Vipers to their eighth straight victory, a 10-1 win over the Mountainview Colts on Sunday evening.
Mack Differenz led all skaters with three goals on the night, his third of the season, while Wilson finished the night with two goals and three assists.
Jacksyn Goodall and Logan Linnell each netted a goal and two helpers for the Vipers (16-4-1), while Curtis Hallman, Jordan Volk and Tristyn Zarubiak also found the back of the net.
Branden Bilodeau made 24 saves in the Red Deer crease as he improves to 9-2-0 on the season.
Alan Klinck had the lone goal for Mountainview (10-10-4), which has now lost four straight.
Okotoks (6) vs. Medicine Hat (1)
OKOTOKS – Taylor McNeill scored twice as the Okotoks Bisons were 6-1 winners over the Medicine Hat Cubs at Murray Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Josh Russo had one goal and one assist for Okotoks (15-6-2), while Kyle Harrison, Brennan Fuoco and Ben Shushkovsky each chipped in with a single.
Devin Reagan was solid in the crease for the Bisons, stopping 32-of-33 shots fired his way, marking the 11th consecutive game he has stopped over 30 shots.
Josh Breznik was a bit busier at the other end of the ice, making 50 saves between the pipes for Medicine Hat (8-13-0), which got its lone goal from Joshua Schafer.
Strathmore (9) vs. Three Hills (1)
STRATHMORE – Seven different skaters found the back of the net as the Strathmore Wheatland Kings rolled to a 9-1 victory over the Three Hills Thrashers.
Bradley Tingey led all skaters with a four-point night, scoring twice and setting up another two, while teammate Brenden Moore also found the back of the net twice.
Austin Holmes, Chayse Hnatowich and Garret Vander Ploeg each recorded a goal and assist for the Wheatland Kings (10-9-2), which stormed out of the gates with five goals in the opening 18 minutes of the game.
Indiana Kelly made 36 saves in net to register his ninth win of the season, while Dennis Asham Jr. and Jaks Varis rounded out the scoring.
Alex Little responded for Three Hills (1-16-0), which got 36 saves from goaltender Klay Munro.
