HJHL Roundup: Big third period propels Blackfalds

A big third period propelled the Wranglers over the Stampeders in the lone HJHL game on Tuesday.

BLACKFALDS –A four-goal third period outburst paced the Blackfalds Wranglers to a 4-1 win over the Ponoka Stampeders on Tuesday evening.

Trailing 1-0 after 40 minutes, Landon Siegle got the Wranglers (16-10-0) on the board just 24 seconds into the frame, then added another 10 minutes later to make it a 2-1 game.

Ryan Chambers and Curtis Rangen provided some insurance, each finding the back of the net in the final two and a half minutes.

Rylan Bardick stopped 31-of-32 shots in the Blackfalds crease, recording his seventh win of the season.

Dakota Sullivan scored the lone goal for the Stampeders (7-14-3), which got 33 saves from netminder Taylor McLaughlin.
