A three-goal, one-assist performance from Will Gretton paced the Cochrane Generals to a 6-4 win and 2-1 series victory over the Medicine Hat Cubs.
Austin Keller and Chris Sambrook each chipped in with a goal and assist, while Colton Wong rounded out the scoring.
The teams were deadlocked at two after 20 minutes before the Generals would score twice in the middle stanza to take a 4-3 lead into the final frame, and never look back.
Knute Loe made 18 saves to record the win in net, while Josh Breznil stopped 37 for the Cubs.
Kian Simonson scored twice for Medicine Hat, while Kaidin Hodgson added a goal and two helpers. Jareh Gray had the other Cubs tally.
The Generals will now face the Okotoks Bisons in a best-of-five second round series.
