Gette scores twice as Colts pull even with Vipers

A pair of third-period markers off the stick of Josh Gette propelled the Mountainview Colts to a 2-1 victory over the Red Deer Vipers on Monday night, evening up their best-of-five North Division semifinal series at one game apiece.

The goaltenders stole the show on this night as Thomas Della Siega stopped 34-of-35 shots faced to record the win for the Colts, while his counterpart at the other end of the rink, Cole Sears, also finished with 34 saves.

After a scoreless first period, Bailey Lawson opened the scoring 2:56 into the middle stanza, giving the Vipers a 1-0 lead after 40 minutes.

Gette tied the game for the Colts 4:22 into the final frame, before putting them out in front with just 44 seconds remaining in regulation.

Game 3 of the series shifts back to Red Deer at 8:30pm on Wednesday evening.
