Thunder advance to North Division Final

The Airdrie Thunder are off to the North Division Final after a 4-1 win over the Blackfalds Wranglers in Game 4 of their best-of-five series.

Tied 1-1 after 20 minutes, Dylan Wenzel gave the Thunder their first lead of the night 2:54 into the third period, while Jared Bainbridge gave them some breathing room, finding the back of the net just 58 second later.

Dante Raposo sealed the deal with a power-play marker in the final five minutes of the game.

C.J. Wedenig recorded the win between the pipes, stopping 27-of-28 shots on the night, while Clay Murray had the other goal for the Thunder.

Landon Siegle scored the lone goal for the Wranglers, which got 34 saves from netminder Lane Brann.

The Thunder will face the winner of the Red Deer versus Mountainview series, which is tied at one.
