High River Flyers goaltender Chantz Vinck has been named the Heritage Junior Hockey League Player of the Week for the week ending on October 7, 2018.
Vinck, 21, turned aside 48-of-49 shots on Saturday evening to help his Flyers team become the first team to defeat the Okotoks Bisons this season, winning 2-1 in overtime. The Lampman, Sask. product made 14 saves in the first period, 14 saves in the second period and then 20 saves in the third period in overtime.
Vinck is currently 3-2-0 on the season with a 2.47 goals-against average and a .944 save-percentage. He has recorded 46 or more saves in each of his last four games.
