Colts win third straight to force Game 7

DIDSBURY – Travis Gerrard scored the winner in double overtime as the Mountainview Colts have climbed all the way back in their best-of-seven North Division semifinal series with a thrilling 5-4 win over the Red Deer Vipers on Friday.

Josh Gette led the way for the Colts with a goal and two helpers, while Alan Klinck, Zane Leatherdale and Mitchell Visser rounded out the scoring.

Ethan Woodward stopped 38 shots between the pipes for Mountainview, which trailed 3-0 in the series before rattling off three straight victories to force a Game 7.

Ryan Vandervlis scored twice for the Vipers, while Mack Differenz had a goal and two assists. Elijah Johanson added a single, while Justin Anderson finished with 44 saves in net.

Game 7 of the series goes Saturday at Kinsmen Arena A in Red Deer. Puck drop is at 8:00pm.
