Brayden Dunn was the overtime hero as the Airdrie Thunder captured the 2019 Hockey Alberta Provincial Junior B Championship with a thrilling 4-3 win over the Wainwright Bisons.
Dunn scored twice on the night, the first coming with 3:53 remaining to force overtime, before finishing it off just 31 seconds into the extra frame.
Michael Dubois and Barrett Sheen rounded out the Airdrie attack, while Jason Wenzel finished with two assists.
Zakeri Larson stopped 32-of-35 shots faced to record the victory between the pipes.
The Thunder become the sixth HJHL team in history to win the Alberta Provincials and the first to do so since 2013.
