Medicine Hat Cubs forward Tristan Stensrud has been named the recipient of the Rex Turpel Memorial Hockey Education Scholarship Fund.
The Rex Turpel Memorial Hockey Education Scholarship Fund is awarded to a player in the HJHL who attends a post-secondary institution full time, while also playing junior hockey.
Stensrud is currently in his second season with the Cubs. In 70 career HJHL games, he has netted 18 points (12-6-18), along with eight points (6-2-8) in 12 post-season games.
The Rex Turpel Memorial Hockey Education Scholarship Fund was created by Bev Turpel and her son, Ryan, in memory of their husband and father, Rex.
