Bisons 6, Rams 3

Make it 19.

Austin O'Bray scored a pair of goals and added two assists as the Okotoks Bisons beat the Rocky Rams 6-3.

With the win, the Bisons move to 19-0-0 on the season, which is one better than the Airdrie Thunder's 18-game winning streak to open last season.

HJHL scoring leader Tyson Scott had a goal and a helper while Mitch Wolfe had a trio of assists.

Evan Woods, Brennan Schwark and Tyler Witzke rounded out the scoring for Okotoks.

Ryan Chambers, Tyler Freeman and Bradley Helofs replied for the Rams (2-14-0), who received a 49-save performance from Devon Carroll.

 

Vipers 4, Cubs 3

Dawson Weatherill turned aside 38 shots to backstop the Red Deer Vipers to a 4-3 victory over the Medicine Hat Cubs.

Jace Paarup and Matias Letwin had a goal and an assist apiece while Cole Hardman and Rylan Burns also scored for the Vipers (8-6-0).

Levi Schlosser scored twice and Mason Fischer chipped in with a single for Medicine Hat (9-4-2).

The Cubs visit Stettler on Sunday afternoon while Red Deer hosts Ponoka on Monday night.

 

Thunder 8, Lakers 1

Eight was certainly enough for the Airdrie Techmation Thunder on Saturday night.

Eight different players lit the lamp as the Thunder beat the Lomond Lakers 8-1.

Kory Zinck, Tyler Petrie, Cody Brodhagen, Dane Bennett-Nimijean, Jordan McConnell, Arlin Schell, Carson McGinnis and Tristan Paquette scored for the Thunder.

The Thunder scored five powerplay goals as they improved to 13-4-0.

Airdrie hosts the Stettler Lightning next Friday (8 p.m.).
