AIRDRIE – Brydon Beston scored the game winner with 40 seconds remaining in overtime as the Airdrie Thunder edged the Strathmore Wheatland Kings by a 7-6 score on Friday night at Ron Ebbesen Arena.

Nicholas Profeta and Jared Bainbridge each scored twice for Airdrie (7-1-2), while Jared Janke and Tyler Devost each added a single.

Brooker Pretty Youngman and Matt Thomson provided the offence for Strathmore (2-4-2), each finding the back of the net three times.

THREE HILLS – The streak has hit double digits for the Cochrane Generals as they skated to their 10th straight win, defeating the Three Hills Thrashers 7-1 on Friday evening at the Three Hills Centennial Arena.

Connor Rendell led the charge with two goals and assist, while Ty Robinson stood tall in goal, stopping 33-of-34 shots on the night.

Slater Ransom added a goal and two helpers for the Generals (10-0-0), while Walid Hassin, Brett Hamer, Brandon Aab and Levi Barker each tallied a single.

Greg Pols made 48 saves in the Thrashers’ crease (3-4-1), while Patrick Fougere netted his fifth goal of the season.

STETTLER -- Ryan Swier (Lacombe, AB) found the back of the net three times as the Coaldale Copperheads skated to an 8-3 win over the Stettler Lightning on Friday night at the Stettler Recreation Centre.

Jayden Smith and Brady Parenteau each added a pair of goals for the Copperheads (8-1-0), while Matt Krusky chipped in with a goal and assist.

Dylan Swanson stopped 28-of-31 shots in goal to grab the win.

The Lightning (4-4-0) got two goals from Dylan Houston, while Matt Sylvester finished with a goal and assist on the night.
