OKOTOKS – Joshua McCulloch scored twice and setup two others as the Okotoks Bisons skated to their fourth straight victory, defeating the Stettler Lightning by a 5-3 score on Sunday afternoon.

Connor Tudor added two goals and one assist for the Bisons (7-3-0), while Kyle Becker rounded out the scoring with a goal and assist.

Matthew McDonald stopped 45-of-48 shots between the pipes to earn the victory.

Matt Slyvester, Ethan Rost and Dawson Beck each found the back of the net for Stettler (4-5-0), which got 36 saves from Jordan McCallum.

Banff Bears (4)

PONOKA – A four-goal performance from Nate Higgins propelled the Ponoka Stampeders to a 9-4 win over the Banff Bears on Sunday afternoon.

Brendan Scott also had a four-point night, soring once and adding three assists, while Taite Opdendries and Jacob Sayler each chipped in with a goal and two helpers.

Zeke Leuck made 24 saves to grab the win in goal as the Stampeders (2-7-0), held leads of 4-0 after 20 minutes and 5-2 going into the final frame.

Daniel Nikiforov, Nathan Cohen-Wallis, Mitchell Wainman and River Ross each tallied for Banff (0-8-1).

Dakota Sullivan and Kyle Skogen rounded out the Ponoka offence, each adding a single.

BLACKFALDS – Lane Brann stopped all 26 shots he faced as the Blackfalds Wranglers blanked the Medicine Hat Cubs by a 4-0 score on Sunday.

Kyle Comford opened the scoring with a power-play goal coming with three minutes remaining in the first period, which would be all the offence the Wranglers (4-3-0).

Brody Bolton, Bryce Marshall and Ryan Chambers each added a third period marker for Blackfalds, which has now won four straight contests.

Dan Maier made 38 saves in the Cubs (1-5-3) crease.
