STETTLER – Matt Sylvester and Dylan Houston combined for eight points as the Stettler Lightning routed the Medicine Hat Cubs by a score of 7-2 on Saturday evening.
Sylvester finished with three goals and a helper, while Houston scored once and setup three others.
Quade Cassidy, Bryce Cornelissen and Justin Golby rounded out the Stettler (6-6-1) scoring attack, which struck three times in the first period and twice in the middle stanza to take a 5-1 lead into the final frame.
Alex Duclos and Ryan Fauth had the goals for Medicine Hat (1-9-3), which have now lost seven straight.
Lane Congdon got the win between the barber poles for Stettler, stopping 29-of-30 shots fired his way.

High River Flyers (2)
AIRDRIE – Gavin Klein scored twice as the Airdrie Thunder skated to a 5-2 win over the High River Flyers on Saturday night.
Rylan Plante-Crough, Jared Baindridge and Clay Murray each chipped in with a single to round out the scoring for Airdrie (11-2-0), while, Joel Lepper picked up the win between the pipes.
Evan Pakkala and Quade Kormos each found the back of the net for High River (5-10-0).

Mountainview Colts (4)
COCHRANE – Five unanswered goals, including four in the final period, propelled the Cochrane Generals to an 8-4 win over the Mountainview Colts on Saturday evening.
Corey Goeson and Slater Ransom each scored twice for Cochrane (12-2-0), which trailed 2-1 after 20 minutes and 4-3 with 6:01 left in the middle stanza.
Ty Milligan, Brett Hamer, Brandon Aab each added a single, while Levi Barker finished with a goal and two helpers. Ty Robinson made 21 saves to pick up the win in goal.
Colton Anderson had two of the goals for Mountainview (10-2-0), while Cole Sutherland and Evan Ingram each had one apiece.

RED DEER – Declan Johnston scored twice and setup two others as the Red Deer Vipers held off the Strathmore Wheatland Kings for a 6-5 win on Saturday night.
JC Ingram, Dalton Angeltvedt, Brody Kalinowski and Brett Hoppus rounded out the scoring for Red Deer (8-4-0), which have now won six in a row.
Branden Bilodeau made 27 saves to pick up the win between the pipes for Red Deer, which held a 6-2 lead going into the third period where Strathmore (4-6-3) would make a comeback and get within one.
Keenan Ogle had two goals and an assist, while Cole Busslinger had a goal and two assists, while Brooker Pretty Youngman and Matt Thomson chipped in with singles.
Brady Hoover stopped 32 shots in the Strathmore crease.
