MEDICINE HAT – Declan Johnston and Kale Lapointe each scored in regulation and again in the shootout as the Red Deer Vipers extended their winning streak to seven games with a 5-4 victory over the Medicine Hat Cubs on Sunday afternoon.
Trailing 2-1 after 40 minutes, the Vipers (9-4-0) scored three times in the final frame off the sticks of Lapointe, Spencer Yeats and Mack Differenz, giving them a late 4-3 lead.
Quinn Lerner tallied the equalizer for the Cubs (1-9-4), finding the back of the net with just five seconds left on the clock to force overtime.
Alex Duclos, Matthew Stark and Nolan Cooney rounded out the Medicine Hat scoring, while Dan Maier made 43 saves in goal.
Cole Sears picked up the win in goal, making 36 saves on the day.

BLACKFALDS – Landon Siegle scored twice, including the winner, as the Blackfalds Wranglers won a thriller over the Okotoks Bisons on Sunday afternoon by a 5-4 score.
Bryce Marshall, Brenden Davidson and Austin Wilson rounded out the scoring for the Wranglers (6-5-0), which held a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes before finding themselves down 4-2 just over seven minutes into the middle stanza.
Blackfalds, which would get a 41-save performance from Lane Brann, scored three unanswered goals to close out the middle frame, taking a 5-4 lead into what would be a scoreless third period.
Joshua McCulloch and Kyle Becker scored shorthanded markers just 19 seconds apart for the Bisons (8-5-0), while Brennan Fuoco and Connor Tudor also found the back of the net.

PONOKA – Slater Ransom has a seven point game as the Cochrane Generals routed the Ponoka Stampeders by a score of 11-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Ransom scored three times and added four helpers, while teammate Brandon Aab collected five points on the night, all assists.
Corey Goeson and Talus Hume each scored twice and setup another, while Levi Barker chipped in with a goal and two helpers for the Generals (13-2-0).
Austin Keller, Will Gretton and Taylor Girard rounded out the offensive attack, while Ryan Simpson grabbed the win between the pipes, stopping 28-of-29 shots fired his way.
Zeke Leuck made 49 saves in the Ponoka (3-11-0) crease.
