COCHRANE – The Red Deer Vipers did something that no team has done all season: they went into Cochrane and came away with a win.
A four-goal performance from Kale Lapointe powered the Vipers (12-6-0) to a 6-4 win on Saturday night, handing the Generals (19-3-0) their first home loss in 10 games this season.
Declan Johnston rounded out the Red Deer attack with a pair of tallies, while Branden Bilodeau made 34 saves between the pipes.
Braden Bain had two goals for Cochrane, while Austin Keller and Levi Barker each potted a single.
Ryan Simpson stopped 38-of-43 shots fired his way in the Generals’ crease.
Strathmore Wheatland Kings (6)
Mountainview Colts (3)
DIDSBURY – Jaks Faris found the back of the net twice as the Strathmore Wheatland Kings upended the Mountainview Colts 6-3 on Saturday evening.
Kristian Ayoungman, Keenan Ogle, Kody Hammond and Brooker Pretty Youngman each finished with a goal and assist for the Wheatland Kings (6-9-3), which held a 6-1 lead until the Colts (13-3-2) scored twice in the final 59 seconds of the game.
Brady Hoover stood tall in goal, stopping 40-of-43 shots fired his way.
Colton Anderson, Jack Vergouwen and Raegen Keim provided the offence for the Colts, which got 19 saves from goaltender Thomas Della Siega.
Okotoks Bisons (10)
Three Hills Thrashers (3)
THREE HILLS – Tyler Rohl had a hat trick as the Okotoks Bisons cruised to a 10-3 win over the Three Hills Thrashers on Saturday evening.
Connor Tudor chipped in with two goals and two assists, while Spencer Bender finished with a pair of goals himself.
Kyler Becker added a goal and three helpers for the Bisons (11-8-0), which scored five times in the middle stanza and four more times in the final frame.
All three Thrashers (5-12-1) goals came on the special teams as Carter Conway and Cody Keith tallied power-play markers, while Tyler Nesham scored on a shorthanded effort.
Taylor McNeil and Nicholas Murrell rounded out the Okotoks attack, while goaltender Draven Rees made 31 saves between the pipes.
Coaldale Copperheads (9)

COALDALE – Seven players found the back of the net as Coaldale Copperheads used a balanced attack to skate to a lopsided 9-1 victory over the Stettler Lightning on Saturday night.
Ryan Swier and Brady Parenteau each tallied twice, while Tyler Anderson, Clay Spencer, Brendon Benson, Matt Krusky and Sam Paskuski each netted a single for the Copperheads (13-3-1).
Quade Cassidy scored the lone goal of the game for the Lightning (7-9-1), which trailed 2-1 after 20 minutes and 4-1 going into the third period where they would surrender five goals in a 15-minute span.
Dillan Kelly stopped 25-of-26 shots in the Coaldale crease to pick up the victory.
