STRATHMORE – Brady Hoover made 28 saves as the Strathmore Wheatland Kings skated to a 4-3 decision over the Airdrie Thunder on Sunday afternoon.
Jake Faris and Zachary Meadows each finished with a goal and assist, while Matt Brelis and Kody Hammond rounded out the Wheatland Kings (7-9-3) attack.
Jared Bainbridge, Dante Raposo and Dylan McCuaig each tallied for the Thunder (14-4-2), which got 41 saves from netminder Joel Lepper.
Red Deer Vipers (4)
Banff Bears (3)
BANFF – Justin Van Tetering scored the go-ahead goal on a shorthanded effort in the latter half of the third period as the Red Deer Vipers hung on for a 4-3 win over the Banff Bears on Sunday afternoon.
Mack Differenz scored once and added two helpers, while Logan Linnell and Declan Johnston rounded out the scoring for the Vipers (13-6-0).
Alex Skinner, Kenta Tanaka and Sven Prinz provided the goal scoring for Banff (4-12-2), which got a 49-save performance from goaltender Erik Garber.
Cole Sears stopped 28-of-31 shots fired his way in the Red Deer crease.

STETTLER – Three different players had two-goal games as the Stettler Lightning skated off with a 7-5 win over the High River Flyers on Sunday.
Dylan Houston led all skaters with five points, scoring twice and adding three helpers, while Matt Sylvester and Ethan Rost each finished with two goals and two assists.
Justin Golby rounded out the scoring, while Lane Congdon made 30 saves between the pipes for Stettler (8-9-1).
Luke Sokol, Michael McTighe, Evan Pakkala, Mason Mazur and Michael Schaefer each found the back of the net for the Flyers (6-13-0), which got 30 saves from goaltender Bryce Shegelski.

BLACKFALDS – A three-goal effort from Garrett Glasman paced the Blackfalds Wranglers to a 6-1 win over the Coaldale Copperheads on Sunday afternoon.
Lane Brann stopped 25-of-26 shots as the Wranglers (11-6-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Curtis Rangen, Ryan Chambers and Makenzie Russell rounded out the scoring.
Coaldale’s (13-4-1) lone goal came of the stick of Ryan Swier, while goaltender Dillan Kelly finished with 17 saves on the day.
