COCHRANE – Draven Rees made 54 saves as the Okotoks Bisons won their third straight game, defeating the Cochrane Generals by a 6-3 score on Saturday evening.

Joshua McCulloch led the charge with two goals and a helper, while Robbie McLean and Kyle Becker each finished with a goal and assist.

The Bisons (13-8-0) led 3-2 after one period of play and 5-3 going into the final frame as Taylor McNeill and Kyle Harrison rounded out the scoring, each netting a single.

Austin Keller, Slater Ransom and Braden Bain provided the offence for the Generals (19-4-0), which got 37 saves from goaltender Ty Robinson.

RED DEER – A trio of unanswered goals in the second period propelled the Red Deer Vipers to a 3-1 win over the Stettler Lightning on Friday night.

Mitch Morrison and Lane Sim tallied two minutes apart midway through the second period to put the Vipers (14-6-0) up 2-1, while Declan Johnston added an insurance marker later in the frame.

Kieran Rost scored the lone goal of the game for the Lightning (9-10-1), which got 22 saves from Jordan McCallum.

Branden Bilodeau stopped 26-of-27 shots fired his way in the Red Deer crease, as the Vipers have now won three straight.

COALDALE – A red-hot power play pushed the Blackfalds Wranglers to a 6-3 win over the Coaldale Copperheads on Friday evening.

Garrett Glasman scored twice and setup another, while Brody Bolton found the back of the net once and added two assists.

Lane Brann picked up the win between the pipes for the Wranglers (12-7-0), making 42 saves on the night, while Bryce Marshall, Ryan Chambers and Shawn Rowe rounded out the scoring. Blackfalds finished 3-for-5 on the man-advantage.

Coaldale (14-5-0) got goals from MacKenzie Karl, Jayden Smith and Ryan Swier, while Dylan Swanson turned aside 22 shots in goal.

High River Flyers (3)

STRATHMORE – A three-goal night from Matt Thomson paced the Strathmore Wheatland Kings to a 5-3 win over the High River Flyers.

Thomson scored once in every period, while George Montour and Kennan Ogle rounded out the scoring for the Wheatland Kings (8-10-3), which got a 43-save performance from netminder Pierre Wiederhold.

Michael McTighe tallied twice for High River (6-15-0), while Evan Pakkala added a single. Damon Turner finished the night with three helpers.

Bryce Shegelski suffered the loss between the pipes, making 20 saves along the way.

DIDSBURY – Tyson Schmidt and Evan Ingram each had a pair of goals as the Mountainview Colts skated to a 7-3 win over the Medicine Hat Cubs on Friday night at the Didsbury Recreation Centre.

Colton Anderson finished with a goal and two assists, while Austin Pederson and Mitchell Visser also found the back of the net for the Colts (16-3-2), which have now won three straight and take over sole possession of first place in the Northern Division.

Thomas Della Siega stopped 27-of-30 shots between the barber poles.

Kayden Pickles was busy in the Medicine Hat (3-14-4) crease, making 55 saves on the night, while Keegan Bartram, Ryan Fauth and Jesse Barsness provided the offence.
