MEDICINE HAT – Kyle Becker found the back of the net 3:43 into overtime to propel the Okotoks Bisons to their fourth straight win, defeating the Medicine Hat Cubs by a 3-2 score on Sunday.
Spencer Bender and Robbie McLean rounded out the offence for the Bisons (14-8-0), while goaltender Matthew McDonald made 31 saves between the pipes.
The Cubs (3-14-5) led 1-0 after 20 minutes before the two teams found themselves knotted at 1-1 going into the third period.
With the Bisons leading 2-1 late in the final frame, Rhett Carlson found the equalizer for the Cubs, sending the game to overtime.
Nathan Thokle had the other Medicine Hat goal, while Dan Maier stopped 41-of-44 shots between the pipes.
