DIDSBURY – Austin Pedersen scored the winner 8:17 into the third period as the Mountainview Colts prevailed with their four straight victory, knocking off the Blackfalds Wranglers by a 5-3 score on Friday night at the Didsbury Recreation Complex.

The two teams were deadlocked at 2-2 through 20 minutes and 3-3 going into the final frame.

Cole Sutherland, Colton Anderson, Evan Ingram and Wyatt Gelinas rounded out the Mountainview (17-3-2) attack, while goaltender Jake Carlson turned aside 18-of-21 shots between the pipes.

Lane Brann was busy in the Blackfalds (13-8-0) crease, making 41 saves on the night, while Landon Siegle led the way offensively with a pair of goals.

HIGH RIVER – Matt Clement scored once in regulation and added another in the shootout as the Medicine Hat Cubs skated to a thrilling 4-3 win over the High River Flyers at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex on Friday night.

Josh Dorn and Nolan Acton also tallied in regulation for the Cubs (4-14-15), while it was Brandon Stahl who netted the shootout winner.

Dan Maier turned aside 29-of-32 shots in the Medicine Hat crease.

Mason Mazur, Adam Rosen and Michael McTighe each found the back of the net for High River (6-15-1), which have now dropped six straight.

Dakota Omura made 26 saves in the losing cause.

AIRDRIE – A two-goal, two-assist night from Clay Murray paced the Airdrie Thunder to a 5-2 win over the Stetter Lightning on Friday evening.

Rylan Plante-Crough also finished with four points in the game, scoring once and setting up three others as the Thunder (17-4-2) have now won three straight.

Malyk John and Dante Raposo rounded out the scoring, each netting a single, while Kade Taplin stopped 42-of-44 shots between the pipes.

Stettler (9-11-1) got 38 saves from Jordan McCallum, while Logan Davidson and Kieran Rost provided the offence.

THREE HILLS – Brendon Benson and Clay Vogt each scored twice as the Coaldale Copperheads blanked the Three Hills Thrashers by an 8-0 score on Friday night at the Three Hills Centennial Arena.

Dillan Kelly stopped all 20 shots he faced to earn his second shutout of the season, while Levi Anderson, Clay Spencer, Matt Krusky and Brady Parenteau rounded out the Coaldale (15-5-1) attack.

Klay Munro turned aside 58 shots between the barber poles for the Thrashers (5-14-1), which see their losing skid now hit seven games.

OKOTOKS – Robbie McLean scored two goals, including the game winner, as the Okotoks Bisons took down the Banff Bears by a 6-2 score at Murray Arena on Friday evening.

Draven Rees kicked aside 25 shots in goal to earn the victory, while Tyler Rohl and Kyle Becker each finished with a goal and assist for the Bisons (15-8-0).

The two teams were tied at 2-2 in the latter half of the middle stanza before Okotoks would close out the game with four unanswered goals. Joshua McCulloch and Ryan McLean rounded out the scoring.

Philip Schader and Noah Giese had the Banff (4-13-2) goals, while Erik Garber made 42 saves in goal.
