DIDSBURY – Corbin Houchin scored the go-ahead goal with 5:40 remaining in the third period to lift the Mountainview Colts to their seventh straight victory as they edged the Stettler Lightning by a 6-5 score.

Cole Sutherland led the way with two goals and one assist, while Evan Ingram chipped in with a goal and two helpers.

THREE HILLS – Taite Opdendries tallied the winner in the latter half of the third period as the Ponoka Stampeders hung on for a 2-1 victory over the Three Hills Thrashers on Saturday evening.

Roenick Minde tallied the other Stampeders (6-16-3), a shorthanded effort late in the second period to knot the score at one.

Carter Gendreau stopped 33-of-34 shots to pick up the victory between the pipes.

Cody Keith scored the lone goal of the game for the Thrashers (5-18-1), which have now lost 11 straight.

Klay Munro made 33 saves in the Three Hills’ crease.

MEDICINE HAT – Robbie McLean scored twice as the Okotoks Bisons extended their league-high winning streak to eight games with a 4-1 win over the Strathmore Wheatland Kings on Saturday.

Kyle Becker added a goal and two helpers for the Bisons (18-8-0), while Brennan Fuoco chipped in with a goal and assist.

COALDALE – Calvin Swanson scored twice in the first 15 minutes of the game and that was all the offence the Coaldale Copperheads would need on Saturday night as they skated to a 6-1 win over the High River Flyers.

Clay Spencer added a goal and two assists for the Copperheads (17-7-1), which got 21 saves from goaltender Dylan Swanson.
