STETTLER – A 38-save performance from Lane Congdon helped the Stettler Lightning take a 5-3 win over the Red Deer Vipers on Tuesday evening at the Stettler Recreation Centre.

Kieran Rost, Dylan Houston, Braydon Whiteford, Quade Cassidy and Matt Sylvester each found the back of the net for the Lightning (12-12-1), which found themselves down 3-2 after 20 minutes before taking a 4-3 lead into the final frame.

The game started out with a bang as each team tallied twice in the opening 3:52 of the first period.

Brett Hoppus had two goals by the 2:26 mark of the opening frame, while Kale Lapointe rounded out the Red Deer (17-8-1) scoring.

Cole Sears turned aside 26 shots in the loss.

BLACKFALDS – A monster night from Landon Siegle propelled the Blackfalds Wranglers to a 10-2 win over the Banff Bears on Tuesday night.

Siegle scored five times and added one assist for the Wranglers (16-8-0), which have now won three straight.

Brody Bolton and Ryan Chambers each finished with a goal and two helpers, while Loclyn Kabatoff, Austin Wilson and Shawn Rowe also found the back of the net.

Mitchell Wainman and Lachlan Shumak provided the offence for the Bears (5-16-2).

Eric Moltzahn chipped in with four assists, while Garrett Glasman and Curtis Rangen each picked up three.

Rylan Bardick made 28 saves to pick up the win.
