STRATHMORE – Braden Bain scored twice and added an assist as the Cochrane Generals skated past the Strathmore Wheatland Kings by a 5-3 score on Saturday evening.

Slater Ransom and Talus Hume chipped in with a goal and assist apiece, while Brandon Aab rounded out the Cochrane (23-4-1) attack with his ninth tally of the season.

Ryan Simpson turned aside 26 of the 29 shots he faced between the pipes, picking up his league leading 12th win of the season.

Brooker Pretty Youngman had a pair of goals for Strathmore (9-14-3), which got 40 saves from goaltender Brady Hoover.

High River Flyers (2)

MEDICINE HAT – A big night from Ryan Fauth propelled the Medicine Hat Cubs to a 5-2 victory over the High River Flyers.

Fauth scored twice, including the winner, and added two assists, while teammate Matt Clement finished with a goal and assist of his own.

Alex Duclos and Dylan Vanderheiden rounded out the Medicine Hat (5-17-5) scoring, each tallying a single. Kayden Pickles made 35 saves in goal to pick up the win.

Luka Sokol and Kody Briggs each netted singles for the Flyers (6-20-1), while Bryce Shegelski finished the night with 39 saves.

Blackfalds Wranglers (1)

RED DEER – A massive six-goal second period paced the Red Deer Vipers to a 7-1 win over the Blackfalds Wranglers on Saturday night.

Mack Differenz and Declan Johnston each finished with two goals and a helper as the Vipers (19-8-1), while Kale Lapointe finished with a goal and two assists.

After a scoreless opening frame, the Vipers found the back of the net six times in the middle stanza, taking a 6-1 lead into the third period.

Lane Sim and Brett Hoppous rounded out the attack, while Branden Bilodeau stopped 28-of-29 shots between the pipes.

Makenzie Russell tallied the lone goal of the game for the Wranglers (16-9-0).

COALDALE – Seven different players found the back of the net for the Coaldale Copperheads on Saturday night as they took an 8-2 win over the Banff Bears.

Tyle Anderson was the lone multi-goal player, scoring twice and added an assist, while teammate Brendon Benson had a goal and two assists.

Sam Paskuski, Calvin Swanson, Matt Krusky and Jonathan Zdan each netted a goal and one helper for the Copperheads (19-7-1).

Philip Schader and Therann Kincross provided the offence for Banff (6-17-2).

Dillan Kelly picked up the win between the barber poles for the Copperheads, making 22 saves along the way, while Clay Vogt rounded out the scoring with his fifth of the season.

THREE HILLS – Dylan Houston had a hat-trick, while also adding two assists, as the Stettler Lightning skated to a 9-5 win over the Three Hills Thrashers on Saturday evening.

Quade Cassidy and Logan Davidson each finished with a pair of goals for the Lightning (13-12-2), while Matt Sylvester added a goal and three assists.

Jordan McCallum grabbed the win in goal, making 28 saves on the night, while Donovan Granger rounded out the Stettler attack.
