BLACKFALDS – Dakota Sullivan was the overtime hero as the Ponoka Stampeders edged the Blackfalds Wranglers by a 6-5 score on Tuesday evening.

Taite Opdendries paced Ponoka (7-17-3) with a pair of goals, while Walker Guthrie, Braydn Adams and Jordan Sears chipped in with singles.

The Wranglers (16-10-1) trailed 5-3 in the third period before Bryce Marshall cut the deficit to just one with a powerplay marker midway through the fame. Landon Siegle then potted his second of the night with 1:52 remaining to force overtime.

Loclyn Kabatoff and Braden Bystrom rounded out the scoring for the Wranglers, which got 34 saves from goaltender Rylan Bardick. Garrett Glasman finished the night with four helpers.

Carter Gendreau made 38 saves in the Ponoka crease to pick up the victory.
