COALDALE – A 36-save performance from Ty Robinson helped the Cochrane hang on to a 3-2 win over the Coaldale Copperheads on Saturday evening.
Connor Rendell netted his 38th of the season just prior to the midway mark of the third period, breaking a 2-2 tie and putting the Generals (25-4-1) out in front.
Slater Ransom and Talus Hume also tallied for Cochrane.
Clay Vogt and Brendon Benson scored first-period markers for the Copperheads (20-9-1), which held a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.
Dillan Kelly stopped 34-of-37 shots in the Coaldale crease.
Strathmore Wheatland Kings (2)
Medicine Hat Cubs (1)
STRATHMORE – Zachary Meadows scored the winner in the fifth round of the shootout as the Strathmore Wheatland Kings were 2-1 winners over the Medicine Hat Cubs on Saturday night.
After a scoreless 40 minutes, Kody Hammond tallied for Strathmore (11-15-3), opening the scoring 6:45 into the final frame.
Keegan Bartram responded for the Cubs (5-19-6) less than 10 minutes later to send the game to overtime.
Strathmore goaltender Indiana Kelly and Medicine Hat goaltender Kayden Pickles each stopped 46-of-47 shots on the night.
Red Deer Vipers (4)
Ponoka Stampeders (3)
RED DEER – Kale Lapointe found the back of the net twice as the Red Deer Vipers held on for a thrilling 4-3 win over the Ponoka Stampeders on Saturday evening.
Lapointe opened the scoring with a power-play marker 5:24 into the game and then broke a 3-3 deadlock with his second of the night midway through the third period.
Spencer Yeats and Carter Trenerry rounded out the scoring for Red Deer (20-9-1), which led 2-0 after 20 minutes before the Stampeders (8-18-3) would respond with three goals in the second period to knot the score at three.
Chevazz Rabbit, Jacob Sayler and Shae Reynolds provided the offence for the Stampeders.

THREE HILLS – Seven different skaters found the back of the net as the Blackfalds Wranglers used a three-goal third period to skate to a 7-4 decision over the Three Hills Thrashers on Saturday night.
Landon Siegle led the charge with a goal and two helpers, while Bryce Marshall and Austin Wilson chipped in with a goal and assist apiece.
Brody Bolton, Zane Bennettm Braden Olsen and Curtis Rangen rounded out the scoring for the Wranglers (17-11-1), while goaltender Lane Brann stopped all nine shots he faced coming off the bench in the third period.
Cody Keith, Tyler Newsham, Tyrell McCubbing and Kyle Gray each tallied for the Thrashers (5-22-1), which found themselves in a 4-4 tie after 40 minutes.
Greg Pols made 32 saves in the Three Hills’ crease.

BANFF – Matthew McDonald stopped all 32 shots he faced for the shutout as the Okotoks Bisons won their 11th straight game, blanking the Banff Bears by a 4-0 score on Saturday evening.
Kyle Becker opened the scoring just 51 seconds into the game on a goal that would be all the offence the Bisons (21-8-0) would need on this night.
Connor Tudur, Mark McLeod and Brennan Fuoco added insurance markers as Okotoks led 1-0 after 20 minutes and 3-0 going into the final frame.
Michael Binczyk made 33 saves between the barber poles for Banff (7-19-2).
