STRATHMORE – Jake Huculak scored twice as the Banff Bears skated off with a 4-3 shootout victory over the Strathmore Wheatland Kings on Tuesday night.

Therann Kincross and Daniel Nikiforov each scored in the shootout, while Michael Binczyk made 25 saves in the game, along with a perfect two-for-two in the shootout.

Noah Giese rounded out the scoring for Banff (8-19-2), adding his fourth goal of the season.

Hayden Vanderploeg and Christian Halman tallied for the Wheatland Kings (11-15-4), which got 28 saves from goaltender Indiana Kelly.

STRATHMORE – Lane Brann stopped all 30 shots he faced to pick up his second shutout of the season as the Blackfalds Wranglers were 2-0 winners over the Mountainview Colts on Tuesday evening.

Ryan Chambers opened the scoring late in the first period, while Brenden Davidson added an insurance marker for the Wranglers (18-11-1) just past the midway mark of the final frame.

Thomas Della Siega stopped 40-of-42 shots fired his way in the Mountainview (23-4-2) crease, a season-high for the goaltender.
