COCHRANE – A four-goal night from Connor Rendell paced the Cochrane Generals to an 8-4 win over the Coaldale Copperheads on Friday evening.

Brett Hamer chipped in with a pair of goals, while Talus Hume added a goal and two assists as the Generals (26-4-1) took home with sixth straight victory.

Tyler Anderson, Brendon Benson, MacKenzie Karl and Jonathan Zdan each tallied for Coaldale (20-10-1), which led 2-0 in the early stages of the second period before the Generals would go on to score three times in the middle stanza and five times in the final frame.

Colton Wong rounded out the scoring for Cochrane, while goaltender Ty Robinson stopped 24 shots between the pipes.

Dillan Kelly made 40 saves in goal for Coaldale, which has now lost three straight.

Three Hills Thrashers (4)

DIDSBURY – Evan Ingram’s third hat trick of the season propelled the Mountainview Colts to an 8-4 victory over the Three Hills Thrashers on Friday night at the Didsbury Recreation Complex.

Ingram scored all three of his goals in the third period, while teammate Cole Sutherland finished the night with five assists.

Cale Brown and Jose Gette each had a goal and assist, while Colton Anderson, with his 100th career HJHL goal, Wyatt Gelinas and Mitchell Visser rounded out the Mountainview (24-4-2), each netting a single.

Michael Lougheed had a pair of goals for Three Hills (5-24-1), while Cody Keith and Derek Samoleski also found the back of the net. Greg Pols made 51 saves in the loss.

The Colts, which led 4-3 after 40 minutes, scored four times in the final frame.

Jake Carlson stopped 26 shots to pick up his 10th win of the season.

HIGH RIVER – Keenan Ogle’s go-ahead goal with 4:55 remaining stood up as the winner as the Strathmore Wheatland Kings prevailed with a 6-4 win over the High River Flyers on Friday night.

Kristian Ayoungman led the way for Strathmore (11-15-4) with two goals and one assist, while Ryan Grasdahl had a goal and assists.

Christian Halman and Cole Busslinger rounded out the scoring, while goaltender Indiana Kelly stopped 27-of-31 shots fired his way.

Davis Sheldon had a goal and two assists for High River (6-22-2), while Kody Briggs, Liam Hall and Josh DeCoffe each tallied a single.

Billy Cawthorn made 20 save between the pipes.

Ponoka Stampeders (1)

AIRDRIE – The Airdrie Thunder scored early and often as they cruised to a lopsided 15-1 win over the Ponoka Stampeders on Friday evening.

Zachary Giroux scored three times and added six assists, while Clay Murray scored three times and added four assists.

Connor Boyd, with two goals and four assists, and Lukas Pollock, with two goals and two assists, also had big nights for Airdrie (23-6-2), as did Brydon Beston, who had six assists on the night. Rylan Plante-Crough finished with a goal and three helpers.

Nate Higgins scored the lone goal for Ponoka (8-20-3), his 29th of the season.
