BLACKFALDS – Garrett Glasman scored once in regulation and then again in the shootout as the Blackfalds Wranglers took a thrilling 4-3 win over the Airdrie Thunder on Tuesday night.

Brenden Davidson and Braden Olsen also scored in regulation for the Wranglers (20-11-1), which have now won four straight.

Rylan Bardick made 46 saves in goal, including all 16 he faced in the middle stanza.

Zachary Giroux, the reigning HJHL Player of the Week, led the way for the Thunder (24-6-3) with two goals and an assist, while Clay Murray added a goal and a helper. Kade Taplin made 35 saves in the loss.

Airdrie trailed 3-1 in the third period before Murray, shorthanded, and Giroux, his second of the night, pulled them even to force overtime.

Stettler Lightning (1)

COCHRANE – Colton Wong scored twice and setup two others as the Cochrane Generals rolled to their eighth straight victory, defeating the Stettler Lighting by a 9-1 score on Tuesday evening.

Talus Hume also had a two-goal night for Cochrane (28-4-1), while Chad Harrison, Chris Sambrook, Corey Goeson, Taylor Girard and Connor Rendell each chipped in with a single. Ryan Simpson made 29 saves in goal.

Cochrane held leads of 2-1 after 20 minutes and 6-1 going into the final frame,  where they would tack on three more.

Lane Congdon made 45 saves in the Stettler (15-15-3) crease.
