COCHRANE – For the second straight season, the Cochrane Generals are the South Division regular season champions thanks to a two-goal effort from Connor Rendell in a 5-1 win over the Blackfalds Wranglers on Friday evening.

Ty Robinson stopped 30-of-31 shots fired his way in the Generals (29-4-1) crease, while Talus Hume, Braden Bain and Austin Keller rounded out the scoring.

Bryce Marshall had the lone goal for the Wranglers (20-12-1), which trailed 1-0 after 20 minutes and 3-1 going into the final frame.

The Generals will have home-ice throughout the post-season, along with a first-round bye.

Coaldale Copperheads (3)

AIRDRIE – Rylan Plante-Crough had two goals and an assist as the Airdrie Thunder moved into top spot in the North Division on Friday night with a 6-3 win over the Coaldale Copperheads.

Jesse Fischer and Tristan Paquette each finished with a goal and one helper, while Connor Boyd and Kristopher LeClair rounded out the scoring, each netting a single.

Kade Taplin made 32 saves between the pipes for the Thunder (25-6-3), which scored four times in the middle stanza after a scoreless first period.

Calvin Swanson had two goals for Coaldale (20-11-2), while Dillan Kelly made 51 saves in net.

The Copperheads have now lost five straight, while the Thunder moved one point up on the Colts for top spot in the North Division, however the Colts have three games in-hand.

HIGH RIVER – Mason Mazur found the back of the net three times as the High River Flyers snapped their 16-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Three Hills Thrashers on Friday evening.

Mazur scored once in the second and twice in the third, while teammate Davis Sheldon finished the night with two goals and one helper.

Billy Cawthorn picked up the win between the pipes for High River (7-24-2), making 23 saves on the night.

Tyler Newsham had both goals for the Thrashers (6-25-1), while Klay Munro kicked aside 35 shots in net.

Okotoks Bisons (2)

STETTLER – Ethan Rost scored three times and setup another as the Stettler Lightning rolled to a 9-2 win over the Okotoks Bisons on Friday night.

Kieran Rost added two goals for the Lightning (16-15-3), while Logan Davidson chipped in with a goal and two helpers.

Kyle Ringdahl, Braydon Whiteford and Dylan Houston rounded out the attack for Stettler, which held a 2-0 lead going into the second period, where they would score six times to make it an 8-0 cushion after 40 minutes.

Lane Congdon had 35 saves in the victory.

Spencer Bender and Connor Tudor provided the goals for Okotoks (23-9-1).

Strathmore Wheatland Kings (3)

MEDICINE HAT – Keegan Batram had a four-point night as the Medicine Hat Cubs upended the Strathmore Wheatland Kings by an 8-3 score on Saturday evening.

Bartram scored twice and setup two more, while Ryan Fauth added a pair of goals of his own.

Matt Clement finished with a goal and two helpers for the Cubs (7-20-6), while Josh Dorn, Alex Duclos and Quinten Karg each chipped in with a single.

Kayden Pickes made 35 saves between the barber poles.

Brooker Pretty Youngman, Matt Thomson and Hayden Vanderploeg each tallied for Strathmore (12-16-4).
