OKOTOKS – Matthew McDonald was rock solid between the pipes, stopping 56-of-57 shots on the day as the Okotoks Bisons skated to a 5-1 win over the Mountainview Colts on Sunday afternoon.

Mark McLeod scored twice for the Bisons (24-9-1), while Joshua McCulloch, Kyle Becker and Brennan Fuoco rounded out the scoring, each netting a single.

Colton Anderson had the lone goal for the Colts (26-5-2), which held a 57-40 advantage in shots, including 42-23 after 40 minutes.

Thomas Della Siega made 35 saves in the Mountainview crease.

BANFF – Landon Siegle scored the go-ahead goal with less than three minutes to play in the third period as the Blackfalds Wranglers took a 6-4 win in a thriller over the Banff Bears on Sunday.

The game featured numerous lead changes as the Bears (9-20-2) held leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in the first period, then 3-2 going into the final frame where things would get exciting.

The Wranglers came back to take a 4-3 lead past the midway mark, before the Bears would tie it up at 4-4 just 2:13 later. Siegle put the Wranglers (21-12-1) out in front for good with 2:39 left, his second of the night.

Braden Bystrom also finished with a pair of goals, his second into an empty net, while Jacob Ten Hove and Brody Bolton each chipped in with a single.

Philip Schader, Noah Giese, Kenta Tanaka and Therann Kincross each found the back of the net for the Bears, which got 25 saves from goaltender Dominik Vollenweider

Rylan Bardick made 38 stops in the Blackfalds crease.
