COCHRANE – The Cochrane Generals made it 10 straight victories as Talus Hume potted the game-winner 1:45 into overtime to give the hometown team a 5-4 win over the Banff Bears on Friday evening.
Hume finished with two on the night, as did teammate Braden Bain.
Slater Ransom rounded out the scoring for Cochrane (30-4-1), which got 34 saves from goaltender Ryan Simpson.
Max Lozeman had a pair of goals for the Bears (9-20-3), while Mitchell Wainman and Philip Schader each netted a single.
Dominik Vollenweider stopped 46-of-51 shots in goal for Banff, which led 1-0 after 20 minutes and 3-1 going into the final frame.
Cochrane needs just two more points to clinch their second straight HJHL regular season title.

AIRDRIE – Brendan Bardwell scored a pair as the Stettler Lightning upended the Airdrie Thunder by a 5-3 score on Friday night.
Kyle Ringdahl finished with a goal and assist for the Lightning (18-5-3), which have now won three straight.
Lane Congdon made 34 saves in the Stettler crease, while Quade Cassidy and Bryce Cornelissen each chipped in with a single.
Gavin Klein, Clay Murray and Jared Bainridge provided the Airdrie (25-7-3) attack, while goaltender Kade Taplin turned aside 33 shots between the pipes.
Stettler held a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes, before each team would tack on a pair of tallies in the middle stanza, making it a 3-2 game heading into the final frame.

DIDSBURY – Brody Bolton scored twice and setup another as the Blackfalds Wranglers skated to a 6-2 win over the Mountainview Colts on Friday evening.
Garrett Glasman finished with a goal and two helpers for the Wranglers (22-12-1), while Ryan Chambers and Braden Olsen each netted a goal and one assist.
Rylan Bardick was a wall between the barber poles, making 39 saves on the night.
Brenden Davidson rounded out the scoring for Blackfalds, which scored five unanswered after the Colts (26-6-2) took a 1-0 lead before the midway mark of the first period.
Colton Anderson and Ryan Klinck each tallied for Mountainview, which got 28 saves from netminder Jake Carlson.

HIGH RIVER – It took a balanced attack for the Coaldale Copperheads to snap their six-game losing skid as they picked up a 7-4 win over the High River Flyers on Friday night.
Seven different skaters found the back of the net for Coaldale (21-12-2), as Matt Krusky led the way with a goal and one assist.
Graham Dugdale, Brendon Benson, Clay Spencer, Calvin Swanson, Levi Anderson and Brady Parenteau each netted a single.
Dillan Kelly made 22 saves in the Coaldale crease.
The Copperheads took a 5-2 lead into the second period, where each team would tack on two more, before playing to a scoreless final frame.
