Bilodeau continues to shine as Vipers advance

RED DEER – Branden Bilodeau’s stellar post-season play continued on Wednesday night as his 47 saves helped the Red Deer Vipers advance to the North Division final after a 6-2 win over the Airdrie Thunder in Game 6.

Bilodeau has allowed two goals or less in five-of-six post-season appearances so far, and has finished with 33-saves or more in five straight.

The Vipers took the series 4-2 and will now face the Mountainview Colts in the best-of-seven North Division final.

Mack Differenz and Logan Linnell led the way offensively with a pair of goals apiece, while Kale Lapointe and Bailey Lawson each chipped in with a goal and two helpers.

Despite being outshout in all three periods, it was the Vipers that held a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes and a 5-1 cushion going into the final frame.

Kristopher LeClair and Jared Bainbridge found the back of the net for the Thunder, which got 26 saves from goaltender Joel Lepper.
