Coaldale takes Game 7 to complete reverse sweep

OKOTOKS – Reverse sweep.

Forty-five saves from Dillan Kelly propelled the Coaldale Copperheads to a 6-4 win over the Okotoks Bisons in Game 7 of their best-of-seven South Division semifinal series.

Levi Anderson and Matthew Nadeau paced the offence with a goal and assist apiece as the Copperheads erased a 3-0 series deficit with four straight wins, punching their ticket to the South Division final against the Cochrane Generals.

Austin Huculak, Tyler Anderson, Logan McKay and Jayden Smith also found the back of the net for Coaldale, which after being deadlocked at two after 20 minutes, held a 3-2 lead going into the final frame where they would tack on three more.

Joshua McCulloch, Kyle Becker, Bradley Whitehead and Mark McLeod responded for Okotoks.

Matthew McDonald made 39 saves in the loss.
