Vipers win big, even series at two

RED DEER – We have ourselves a series.

Six different players found the back of the net as the Red Deer Vipers used a balanced attack to skate to a 6-2 win over the Mountainview Colts on Tuesday evening, knotting their best-of-seven series up at two games apiece.

Kale Lapointe and Spencer Yeats combined for six points, each finishing with a goal and two helpers, while goaltender Branden Bilodeau stopped 27-of-29 shots faced between the pipes.

Red Deer led 2-1 after 20 minutes and 4-2 going into the final frame.

Brody Kalinowski, Mack Differenz, Brennan Schweder and Brett Hoppus rounded out the scoring for the Vipers.

Mitchell Visser and Evan Ingram did the damage for the Colts, which got 25 saves from goaltender Thomas Della Siega.

The pivotal Game 5 of the series goes Wednesday night at the Didsbury Recreation Complex. Puck drop is slated for 8:00pm.
