DIDSBURY – Thomas Della Siega stopped all 26 shots fired his way as the Mountainview Colts took a 3-2 series lead in their best-of-seven North Division Final series with a 4-0 win over the Red Deer Vipers on Wednesday evening at the Didsbury Recreation Complex.
Josh Gette’s first-period goal, with 7:55 remaining in the frame, proved to be all the offence the Colts would need on this night.
Cole Sutherland and Ryan Klinck added second period markers, while Evan Ingram rounded out the scoring with a power-play marker late in the final frame, marking the seventh straight game he has found the back of the net.
The shutout was Della Siega’s first HJHL playoff shutout, in his 37th appearance.
Branden Bilodeau made 34 saves in the loss for the Vipers.
The Colts can punch their ticket to the HJHL Final with a win on Friday night in Game 6 at the Collicutt Centre in Red Deer. Puck drop is at 8:30pm.
