DIDSBURY – North Division champs.
Branden Bilodeau made 40 saves as the Red Deer Vipers punched their ticket to the HJHL Final with a 5-3 Game 7 win over the Mountainview Colts on Saturday.
Brett Hoppus scored twice for Red Deer, while Spencer Yeats, Lane Sim and Bailey Lawson each added a single.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Vipers tallied four time in the middle stanza to take a 4-2 lead into the third period, where the teams would trade a goal apiece.
The 40-saves were the most of the series for Biloedau, who appeared in all seven games, and is the third highest total of his post-season, where he is now 9-4-0 with a 2.30 goals-against average and a .935 save-percentage.
Thomas Della Siega made 25 saves in the loss for the Colts.
Red Deer will now face the Cochrane Generals in the HJHL Final. Full schedule will be released in the coming days.
