COALDALE – Kings of the South.
The Cochrane Generals have a date with the Red Deer Vipers in the HJHL Final after a wild 7-5 win over the Coaldale Copperheads in Game 6 Saturday evening.
The Copperheads led 5-4 late in the third period as they tried to force a Game 7, but the Generals stormed right back as Chad Harrison and Slater Ransom tallied 44 seconds apart and then Talus Hume sealed the deal with an empty-netter in the final minute.
Ransom finished with three goals on the night, while teammate Corey Goeson added a pair of markers.
Ty Robinson turned aside 25 shots between the pipes for Cochrane.
Matthew Nadeau had two goals for the Copperheads, which got 38 saves from netminder Dillan Kelly.
Tyler Anderson, MacKenzie Karl and Ryan Swier each added a single.
