The road team has won each of the first two games of the Emile Balogh Championship Series as the Rocanville Tigers doubled up the Theodore Buffalos 4-2 on Saturday night in Theodore, one night after the Buffs emerged 4-3 winners in Rocanville.
Jacob Tibbatts broke a 1-1 tie six minutes into the second period and the Tigers never trailed after that point. Dillan Reavie upped the lead to 3-1 midway through the third, but Theodore quickly got back to within one before Brett Hope's unassisted goal with over eight to go in regulation restored the two goal advantage. Daniel Green also scored for the Tigers and Dakota Odgers factored in on three Rocanville goals.
Keenan Taphorn and Dylan Johnson countered for Theodore.
On Friday, the back and forth affair was decided in the second period with three goals coming in the final three minutes of the second period. Derrick Schwartz broke a 2-2 tie 17:04 and Dan Wilson upped the lead at 18:47. Massen Ziola got Rocanville back to within one at 19:35 but Warren Shymko held the fort in the third to preserve the win.
Keenan Taphorn and Dylan Johnson also scored for Theodore on Friday night. Brett Hope had Rocanville's other goal and once again Odgers contributed three assists (he has six points in the series).
Game three goes Friday in Rocanville with Theodore hosting game four on Saturday.
