League Rules on Un-registered Players

League Rules on Un-registered Players

the NCHL

The NCHL has ruled that the game played last weekend between Camrose and Innisfail to be a default to Camrose for listing an un-registered player on their gamesheet. As is the case with all instances where an unregistered player is listed, the information was forwarded to Hockey Alberta who confirmed that Camrose was in violation of Rule 2.2 (ineligible player). The league, under it's bylaw 26.e then classified the game as a default to Camrose and their win was removed and Innisfail was credited with the win.

That was the second instance of teams having an ineligible player listed last weekend as Bonnyville also had an unregistered player listed on Saturday in Stony Plain. As the Pontiacs lost that game, there was no further action taken by the league.

So far in this young season, there have now been three instances where teams have listed an ineligible player on their gamesheets.  Listing an ineligible player cost Stony Plain an overtime loss point to Lacombe back on October 18th.

Teams are reminded that it's their responsibility to ensure their gamesheets are properly filled out.

In other news, the Devon Barons were fined by the league for failing to "live score" their game last weekend vs Stony Plain.
