Chance Griffith wins Vanberg Cup MVP

Innisfail Eagle's netminder Chance Griffith was selected as this season's NCHL Vanberg Cup Most Valuable Player after backstopping his team to the Vanberg Cup championship on Saturday. Griffith is the first netminder to be selected as playoff MVP since Chris Kuhar of the Westlock Warriors won the award back in 2014-15.

Griffith had a strong playoffs, starting in 12 of the Eagles 14 games going 9-3. He ended up with a 2.47 GAA to go along with a save percentage of .927 and an impressive 11.26 goals saved above average. Chance played 2 games for Innisfail last season after playing for the Mountainview Colts (Didsbury) of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League. Congratulations Chance on a great playoff run!
