After 112 regular season games, six of eight teams in the South Coast Women’s Hockey League are travelling up the Fraser Valley for the Chilliwack Jets / Axe House SCWHL Provincial Championship Tournament.
The three-day competition Mar. 22-24 at the Sardis Sports Complex in Chilliwack will crown both the SCWHL champion and a BC Hockey Senior AA Female champion.
The North Shore Rebels are the two-time defending provincial champions, but go into this year’s tournament as the sixth seed.
The Meadow Ridge Moose are the top-seed for the competition, having lost just four times in 28 regular season games. Their 23 wins is a SCWHL record, beating by one the standard set by the 2024-15 Kamloops Vibe.
The Vibe are the second-seed in the tournament, the Richmond Devils are the third-seed.
The fourth-seed Fraser Valley Jets and fifth-seed South Fraser TNT complete the field for Chilliwack.
After round robin play all day Friday and Saturday morning, four teams will advance to the semifinal round Saturday evening (Mar. 23) for games at 5:15 and 7:30 p.m.
After a consolation game at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, the SCWHL provincial championship game will face-off at 12:30 pm.
The SCWHL All-Stars and award winners will e announced Saturday morning at a brief ceremony (11 a.m.) between the final two round robin games.
