Chris Blessing (10) saved the best for the second overtime period, as he picked up a loose puck inside his own blueline and raced down the left side of the ice with Spencer Graboski 2 on 1. As he hit the face off circle he rifled the puck over the left shoulder of Cole Holowenko at 1:19 to give Quesnel the 4-3 win over Westside, and the all important 5 point lead in the standings for final play off spot heading into the final weekend of play.
The Warriors Quinn Gould scored the tieing goal, sending the game into overtime on a rebound at 17:41of the third to make it 3-3.
Quesnel opened the game with a two goal lead as Derek Huisman (14) scored at 5:32 from Rigby Burgart and Chris Blessing. The Millionaires made it 2-0 as Michael Spring (10) jumped in a rebound after Malcolm Gould had taken the shot, after receiving the pass inside the blueline from Chris Kerr at 15:46. Westside closed the gap with a late tally from Travis Blanleil at 19:39.
The Warriors kept coming as they tied it at 2 as Kyle Singleton scored at 1:27 to open the second. Chris Allbee (5) was the trailer on great set up by Malcolm Gould at 10:01 of the second to give Quesnel a 3-2 lead. Taylor Orser gave the pass from inside his own line to send Gould down the right side.
Bryton Udy rebounded with a great game and made a game saving snag, taking the puck off Quinn Gould in overtime to give Quesnel the chance for the OT Win. Udy stopped 39 of 42 shots to preserve the win for Quesnel. The Mills now head out on the road with three games starting in Westside on Friday, Penticton Saturday and winding up in Vernon on Sunday for the last game of the BCHl Regular Season.
