TIGERS CLAIM THIRD STRAIGHT TITLE

TIGERS CLAIM THIRD STRAIGHT TITLE

The Rocanville Tigers have won the Triangle Hockey League championship for the third year in a row as they held off the Theodore Buffalos for a 3-2 win in game four in the best of five series on Friday night.

Goals by Brett Hope and Stephane Robidoux staked the home side to a 2-0 lead, but the Buffs drew to within one on a Derrick Schwartz goal in the second.

Ryan Regel restored the two goal advantage before Jeremy Johnson answered before the second was over to make it a one goal game heading into the third.

Inevitably, it was a deficit the Buffs couldn't close in the final twenty minutes as they come up short for the second year in a row to Rocanvlle in the league championship series.

Regel ended up leading the way with 8-goals and 12-assists in 10-games during the playoffs, but the real story was goalie Ryan Person, who posted a 2.30-GAA in starting all ten games.
