The Bredenbury Cougars rallied late for three consecutive goals to defeat the Ochapowace Thunder 6-5 in overtime to stretch their unbeaten streak to three.
Kyle Yaremchuk, who had a three point game, narrowed the 5-3 gap to 5-4 with just under five minutes to play and then Lee Janett tied it with 32-seconds to go in regulation. Yaremchuk then set up Tristin Kotzer for the OT winner in the game's final moments.
Tye Jacob, Zach Korchinski, and Tanner Mack also scored for Bredenbury, who are now 3-and-0 on the season after the opening weekend sweep in Hudson Bay.
Wilson Dumais had two goals and two assists for the Thunder, while Trey Bear added a goal and two assists. Brandoin Pelletier and Caine Bear also scored for Ochapowace.
Meanwhile, the new-look Theodore Buffalos won their home opener with a 2-1 decision over Esterhazy.
Mark Nahnybida and Andrew Dingle staked the Buffs to a 2-0 first period lead and Rylan Palchewich did the rest holding the Flyers at bay, allowing only Michael Rogoschewsky to score in the second.
The victory means four of the five teams in the league have hit the win column.
