The Bredenbury Cougars play host to the Hudson Bay Hunters Sunday afternoon and the Cougars need to win out their final four games in order to finish in first place.
For now, the Cougars are locked into second place and will play either Esterhazy or Theodore in the first round of the playoffs regardless of where they finish. The Flyers lead the Buffs by one point and both clubs have three games to play.
The Hunters are 1-and-10 in their first season in the THL and have five games to play and will miss out on the postseason.
The Ochapowace Thunder will finish in first or second and have one game to play after edging Theodore 5-4 in a game shortened to two periods last night due to ice conditions. Valdez Bear had a hat trick for the Thunder, while Dallyn Holmstrom scored once and set up two others for the Buffs.
It was the second win in as many nights for Ochapowace as Brandon Pelletier had three goals and six points in a 9-1 win over the Buffs on Friday.
Wednesday, Esterhazy moved ahead of Theodore in the standings with a 5-4 win over the Buffs as Jeremy Shackleton broke the tie with just over two minutes to play in regulation. It was the only Flyer goal of the night not scored by Mike Rogoschewsky, who had the other four.
